CAPE TOWN TO CAIRO

This epic 32-day journey of a lifetime takes in an Africa that people only dream of. It includes life-changing “bucket-list” experiences, stays at iconic hotels, and some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet.

The trip starts in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world with Table Mountain as its immediate background.

Continue through Botswanainto Zimbabwe where guests overnight at the Victoria Falls Hotel. After crossing the mighty Zambezi River, the train joins the Tazara line in Zambia and continues to Chisimba Falls where guests enjoy a bush walk. The train climbs to the Tanzanian border then descends into the Great Rift Valley negotiating the tunnels, switchbacks and viaducts of the spectacular escarpment. As it climbs again to Dar Es Salaam, it traverses the Selous Game Reserve – the largest on the continent and a vision of timeless Africa. Here guests enjoy a game drive.
Enjoy two nights overlooking the Ngorongoro Craterand then spend two full days in the Serengeti where, given the time of year, the great migration awaits. The remarkable game experiences are not complete as next you fly to Rwanda. After spending time in the deeply moving Genocide museum, visit the area made famous by Dian Fossey, and trek with the endangered mountain gorillas.
For something completely different Ethiopia is culturally and historically unlike any other country in Africa. Here you will explore the world-heritage site of Lalibela to see the 11 monolithic rock-hewn churches.
The final leg of this, the ultimate African experience, is fittingly an exploration of Egypt. Your luxurious rooms in Cairo offer pyramid views.
